The August 1983 redesign, sold as 1984 model year vehicles in North America, introduced the Xtracab extended cab option. Production of the N30 and N40 Hilux stopped in July 1983, and the final SR5 of the 1983 and a half model year gave way to the luxury Mojave trim of 3,500 units. This was the first model year of the Toyota Hilux (fourth generation, N50, N60 and N70), 1983 to 1987, which took over from the Toyota Hilux (third generation, N30 and N40); the 1984 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Hilux run from 1968 to 2026.
