The eleventh generation S170 was launched in September 1999, with a shorter front overhang to maximize the space inside and in the trunk. In December 1999 the new Estate wagon followed, the first new Crown wagon since the 130 series, and the S130 wagon and van stopped sale that month. This was the first model year of the Toyota Crown (eleventh generation, S170), 1999 to 2002, which took over from the Toyota Crown (tenth generation, S150); the 2000 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Crown run from 1955 to 2026.
