In September 1996 the X100 series Cresta was released, the fifth and final generation. It continued to be sold at Toyota Vista Store, sharing its chassis with the Mark II and Chaser, until the three were reworked into the Verossa. This was the first model year of the Toyota Cresta (fifth generation, X100), 1996 to 2001, which took over from the Toyota Cresta (fourth generation, X90); the 1997 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Cresta run from 1980 to 2001.
