The X60 Chaser began sales in October 1980, with the new 2.0 liter six cylinder 1G-EU engine and a 2.2 liter L series diesel. The top trim package Avante was introduced in 1980, and in 1980 the Celica Camry was renamed the Toyota Vista and a new dealership, Toyota Vista Store, was created for it. This was the first model year of the Toyota Chaser (second generation, X60), 1980 to 1983, which took over from the Toyota Chaser (first generation, X30 and X40); the 1981 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Chaser run from 1977 to 2001.
