In January 1974 the Japanese market hardtop coupe received a facelift with a flat nose and new hood, and in July 1974 the Liftback reached export markets. The Celica GT and LT models were introduced in the US for the 1974 model year, and flared wheel arches were introduced during the 1974 model year. It was model year 5 of 7 in the Toyota Celica (first generation, A20 and A30), 1970 to 1976, coming after the 1973 model year and before the 1975 model year.
