The third generation 4Runner went on sale in late 1995 for the 1996 model year with driver and passenger airbags and, new to the 4Runner, an optional electric locker in the rear differential. In 1996 the 4Runner was withdrawn from the UK, where the Land Cruiser Prado sold as the Land Cruiser Colorado replaced it. This was the first model year of the Toyota 4Runner (third generation, N180), 1996 to 2002, which took over from the Toyota 4Runner (second generation, N120 and N130); the 1997 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota 4Runner run from 1984 to 2025.
