The fifth generation 4Runner went on sale months after its unveiling in September 2009, in SR5, Trail and Limited trim levels with a 4.0 liter V6 with dual VVT-i as standard. A 2.7 liter four cylinder was available on 2WD models, but was discontinued after the 2010 model year. This was the first model year of the Toyota 4Runner (fifth generation, N280), 2010 to 2024, which took over from the Toyota 4Runner (fourth generation, N210); the 2011 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota 4Runner run from 1984 to 2025.
