Automobiles

The 2001 model year ended the 4 cylinder option in North America and dropped the optional e-locker locking rear differential, while the base and SR5 gained redesigned climate controls with three knobs and two buttons in place of the sliders of the 1999 model. It was model year 6 of 7 in the Toyota 4Runner (third generation, N180), 1996 to 2002, coming after the 2000 model year and before the 2002 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota 4Runner run from 1984 to 2025.
