1997 Toyota 4Runner

Automobiles

In 1996, for the 1997 model year, the 4Runner received a few minor updates, including a color keyed cargo cover. In Japan an intercooled version of the 1KZ-TE turbodiesel was introduced in July 1996, producing 140 horsepower, but only for the Hilux Surf SSR-G. It was model year 2 of 7 in the Toyota 4Runner (third generation, N180), 1996 to 2002, coming after the 1996 model year and before the 1998 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota 4Runner run from 1984 to 2025.
