The second generation 4Runner was released in 1989 for the 1990 model year. Rear wheels were fitted with an anti lock braking system as standard on the SR5 V6 starting with the 1990 model year, with four wheel anti lock brakes as an option, and nearly all cars were four door models. This was the first model year of the Toyota 4Runner (second generation, N120 and N130), 1990 to 1995, which took over from the Toyota 4Runner (first generation, N60); the 1991 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota 4Runner run from 1984 to 2025.
