The second generation Subaru XV, called the Crosstrek in North America, was unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2017. Like the Impreza, it moved to the Subaru Global Platform. Its minimum ground clearance is 220 millimeters, and matte black cladding was added to each side for a rugged flavor. In North America it uses the revised direct injection FB20D engine of 152 horsepower, and the base transmission changed to a six speed manual. Its model years run from 2017 to 2022.
