The second generation Subaru XV, the Crosstrek for North America, was unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2017. The 2017 model of the first generation was largely unchanged, the only change being a new trim, the Platinum Special Edition, which could be considered an option package to the Premium trim. All generations of the Crosstrek are raised versions of the Subaru Impreza hatchback. The Crosstrek is a successor to the Outback Sport in North America and the Impreza XV globally.
