For the 2017 model year Subaru released another special edition for the newly redesigned BRZ, called the Series Yellow in America, limited to 500 units, and the Inazuma Edition in Canada, limited to between 200 and 250 cars. It was based on the Limited trim with the Performance package as standard, including Brembo brakes, Sachs dampers and Charlesite Yellow paint. The Toyota 86 and the Subaru BRZ were inspired by Toyota's earlier AE86, a small, light, front engine and rear drive Corolla variant popular for racing and drifting.
