The Zephyr was the Mercury counterpart of the Ford Fairmont for the 1978 to 1983 model years, replacing the Maverick based Comet. It was the third vehicle to use the nameplate within Ford Motor Company, after the Lincoln-Zephyr and the British Ford Zephyr. It shared the Fairmont model range and the Fox platform, was distinguished by four headlights, and was replaced by the Topaz for 1984. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1978 to 1983).
