The fifth generation LS 500 reached customers as a 2018 model, the first LS with a V6 engine and no V8 option and offered in only one length. The car had been developed under the 200B program and previewed by the LF-FC concept. This was the first model year of the Lexus LS (fifth generation, XF50), 2018 to 2026, which took over from the Lexus LS (fourth generation, XF40); the 2019 model year follows it.
