The second generation LS 400, the UCF20, debuted in November 1994 for the 1995 model year with a longer wheelbase. Its sales slowed in mid 1995 when the United States government threatened tariffs on Japanese luxury cars over the widening trade deficit, which could have raised prices. This was the first model year of the Lexus LS (second generation, XF20), 1995 to 2000, which took over from the Lexus LS (first generation, XF10); the 1996 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Lexus LS run from 1990 to 2026.
