The F-150 Lightning was Ford's battery electric version of its best selling pickup, unveiled in May 2021, with dual motors, four wheel drive and a crew cab, built at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Michigan. It drew more than 200,000 reservations before launch, and could power a house from its battery. Ford stopped making it in December 2025 after failing to earn a profit from it.
