From April 2023 the Lightning was officially sold in Europe, starting in Norway, only in the Lariat Launch Edition with a Super Crew Cab body in Antimatter Blue. In May 2023 Ford announced it would adopt the North American Charging System, and the truck won the 2023 North American Truck of the Year. It had dual electric motors, four wheel drive and a crew cab body, and could power a home from its battery. The Lightning was a battery electric full size pickup that Ford sold as part of its fourteenth generation F-Series.
