Nash added a convertible to the Ambassador range for the 1948 model year and built about a thousand of this one year only body style as a halo model, reportedly allocating a single example to each major dealership. Production of all Ambassadors in 1948 rose to about fifty thousand cars. The convertible was also the first car to carry the Twin H Power name on a factory twin carburetor conversion fitted to four promotional cars lent to NASCAR board members.
