Morris Major (Elite)

Automobiles

The Major Elite, coded YDO1, was introduced in March 1962 to replace the Series II and removed the Austin Lancer entirely, because BMC Australia had rationalised its dealers into BMC Centres and it was seen as unnecessary to sell two versions of one car. It had the enlarged 1622 cubic centimeter engine with a Zenith carburettor and an updated suspension and axles. Its model years run from 1962 to 1964.
