The Mark VII was the final version of the Classic Mini, with twin point injection and a front mounted radiator. A full width dashboard replaced the original shelf, there was an internal bonnet release, and the driver's side airbag was introduced. The basic Mini was the 1.3i, the other model in the range being the Mini Cooper, and production replaced the Mark VI in August 1996. The Mark VII was introduced at the end of the Mark VI.
