The Mark III was the first Mini sold under the Mini marque, from 1969, when the simple name Mini completely replaced the separate Austin and Morris brands. Customer demand led to winding windows replacing the sliding ones, and the suspension reverted from Hydrolastic to rubber cones as a cost saving measure, although the 1275 GT and Clubman kept Hydrolastic until June 1971. British Leyland built it at Longbridge. Its model years run from 1969 to 1976.
