The Topaz of 1990 was produced across multiple facilities in North America, in the GS, LS, XR5 and LTS trims, with all wheel drive versions still available until the end of the 1990 model year. For the 1991 model year the all wheel drive Tempo and Topaz and the Canadian entry level Tempo L would be discontinued. The 2.3 liter engine was the standard power for the Topaz. After the 1988 redesign it resembled the Sable more closely.
