The 1964 Colony Park was the last of the third generation, a Ford based wagon with the 390 cubic inch V8 as the standard engine, and a choice of manual or Merc O Matic automatic transmissions. It stayed the luxury level Mercury, with woodgrain trim that the Commuter lacked, and it matched its sedan siblings in using a Ford based body and chassis shared with the Country Squire, until the full redesign of 1965. The Colony Park was the luxury level Mercury wagon, set apart from the Commuter by its woodgrain trim.
