The CX-8 of 2026 was the last year that Malaysian production was stated to continue, at least, after Japanese production ended in December 2023 and the CX-80 replaced it in Japan, Australia and New Zealand. It remained a mid size three row crossover SUV, assembled in Malaysia and in Vietnam, derived from the CX-5, with 6 or 7 seats. Outside of Japan, the CX-8 is available in China, Oceania, and Southeast Asia. The CX-8 is a three-row version of the CX-5.
