Automobiles

The first generation CX-5, the KE, was previewed by the Minagi concept at the Geneva show in 2011 and shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show that September, after rapid development from 2009 under Hideaki Tanaka. Japanese production began at the Ujina plant in Hiroshima in January 2012, with sales from February, a 2.0 liter Skyactiv-G petrol engine or a 2.2 liter Skyactiv-D diesel, and the Skyactiv-Drive six speed automatic. A 2.5 liter engine was added for 2014 and a facelift came for 2016. Its model years run from 2012 to 2016.
