The seventh generation Carol came in 2014, when Suzuki released a replacement for the Alto and the rebadged Mazda Carol was also replaced. It was a kei car manufactured by Suzuki for Mazda and based on the Japanese Suzuki Alto, with a Mazda badge and no unique bodywork, and the Mazda name remained on the car until the eighth generation. The car was sold in Japan as a kei car, built to the size and engine limits of that class. Its model years run from 2014 to 2020.
