The 1995 Mazda 626 was in its fourth year of the GE generation, some 2.0 liter automatics having Ford's EEC-IV diagnostic system, and built at Flat Rock for North America and in Japan for other markets. The Japanese CG series Capella was in its first full year on the CG platform that was designed for the upscale Mazda Lantis, while the GE sedan and hatchback were sold as the 626 abroad. Ford used the platform for the Telstar and Probe.
