The Toyota Soarer is a personal luxury grand touring coupe that Toyota produced from 1981 to 2005 and sold in Japan. It debuted with the Z10 series and replaced a series of coupes that were exclusive to different Japanese dealership channels, including the Mark II coupe, the Chaser coupe, the Crown coupe and the Carina coupe. In 1986 the Z20 series was launched on the A70 Supra platform, and in 1991 the Z30 series premiered in Japan while its Lexus equivalent, the SC 300 and 400, debuted in the United States. The Soarer name ended in 2005 when Lexus arrived in Japan.
