In 1986 the Z20 series Soarer was launched, based on the then new A70 series Supra platform. In 1986 the electronically controlled shock absorber carried over from the previous generation, and the double wishbone suspension was now shared with the A70 Supra. This was the first model year of the Toyota Soarer (second generation, Z20), 1986 to 1990, which took over from the Toyota Soarer (first generation, Z10); the 1987 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Soarer run from 1981 to 2005.
