The Toyota Celsior is the domestic market version of the Lexus LS 400 and LS 430, a full size luxury sedan sold in Japan until the Lexus marque was introduced there in 2006. A right hand drive Celsior badged version was introduced shortly after the LS 400's United States debut, since local dealers had asked for a Japanese domestic market version. At its introduction in 1989 it won the Car of the Year Japan award, and in 1992 it introduced the world's first GPS navigation system with voice instructions, supplied by Aisin. The Lexus LS is the flagship of Toyota's luxury division, begun with the F1 project in 1983. Generations with their own pages on this site: the first generation, XF10 (1989 to 1993); the second generation, XF20 (1994 to 1999); the third generation, XF30 (2000 to 2005).
