Imperial (1955 to 1983) (sixth generation)

Automobiles

Lee Iacocca revived the Imperial in 1981 as a downsized, two door personal luxury car on the intermediate J platform, built at Windsor, Ontario, with a bustle back look recalling the 1930s and 1940s, electronic fuel injection, a digital instrument cluster and a long standard equipment list, promoted by Frank Sinatra. It did not meet sales and reliability expectations, and it was dropped after 1983. Its model years run from 1981 to 1983.
