For 1971 the Imperial eagle on the hood gave way to the word Imperial, and the decklid badge said Imperial by Chrysler for the first time. The LeBaron was the only model offered, with a vinyl top standard, and a unique burgundy paisley vinyl top was briefly an option. The 1971 Imperial was the first production car in America with four wheel anti lock brakes, from Bendix, a rarely chosen option. A total of 11,569 were produced, with a retail price of 6,276 dollars for the sedan.
