The Toyota Auris is a compact hatchback built on the Corolla that Toyota introduced in 2006. The first generation three or five door hatchback shared the platform of the E150 Corolla, and the second generation hatchback and Touring Sports estate used the E180 platform. The name comes from the Latin word for gold, aurum. In Europe Toyota positioned the Auris as the replacement for the Corolla hatchback, and the nameplate ended with the E210 Corolla, which used the Corolla name again, except in Taiwan. Generations with their own pages on this site: the first generation, E150 (2006 to 2011); the second generation, E180 (2012 to 2018).
