The R1 was a two door Subaru kei car built from 2005 to 2010, a shorter version of the R2 on a shorter body and wheelbase. It was unusual in not using the full length that kei rules allowed. It had a 658 cc EN engine in three versions, the I with a SOHC, the R with a DOHC and the STi with a supercharger and intercooler, all with a CVT and front or four wheel drive, and was marketed as a personal car. The experimental R1e battery electric vehicle and the Prodrive P2 concept were derived from it. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (2005 to 2010).
