Honda used the Life name on a number of kei and city cars, among them passenger cars, microvans and kei trucks. The first series of the nameplate was built between 1971 and 1974, with the nameplate revived in 1997 and used until 2014, and the Japanese market Life has rarely been marketed outside Japan. In 2020 Dongfeng Honda revived the Life nameplate in China as a rebadged variant of the Fit produced by Guangqi Honda until 2025. This page treats each of these runs as a generation, with the Life Step Van and Life Pickup of 1972 and 1973 noted within the first. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 6 generations: the 1971 to 1974 (1971 to 1974 model years); the 1997 (1997 model year); the 1998 to 2002 (1998 to 2002 model years); the 2003 to 2007 (2003 to 2007 model years); the 2008 to 2014 (2008 to 2014 model years); the Chinese market (2020 to 2025). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
