On April 18, 1997 the new JA4 Honda Life was introduced and the Life name revived. On December 15, 1997 the Super Select special edition was introduced, based on the low cost B model, which added an AM/FM tuner with cassette deck, keyless entry, a driver's seat armrest, body coloured door mirrors, bumper and door handles, and went on sale on January 4, 1998. Three grades were offered, B, G and T, and the options were an SRS airbag on the driver's side and an antilock brake system.
