The Allegro is the small family car that the Austin Morris division of British Leyland made from 1973 until 1982, designed as a replacement for the Austin 1100 and 1300. It was built and sold alongside the hatchback Austin Maxi and the 1971 rear wheel drive Morris Marina, all three being replaced by the Austin Maestro in 1983, and 642,350 were produced over its ten year life. The same vehicle was built in Italy by Innocenti as the Innocenti Regent in 1974 and 1975. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the Allegro 1 (1973 to 1975); the Allegro 2 (1975 to 1979); the Allegro 3 (1979 to 1982).
