In March 2008 Toyota cut the Prius price in China by up to eight percent, about 3,000 dollars, trying to stem falling sales. The US EPA and the California regulator again placed it among the cleanest cars sold in America on smog forming and toxic emissions. It was the last model year covered for the Toyota Prius (second generation, XW20), 2003 to 2008, and the Toyota Prius (third generation, XW30) came next, following the 2007 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Prius run from 1997 to 2025.
