In 1987 the VE6 Transit was in its second year with the one box bodyshell, a more car like front end than the old van, and a range of Pinto petrol and York diesel engines carried over from the Mark II. It was built at Southampton and Genk and sold across Europe, Australia and beyond, as the second generation Transit, with the County 4x4 conversion available since the launch. The one box body had its windscreen and bonnet at close to the same angle.
