In 1975, as in the rest of the mid 1970s, the Amsterdam factory was producing Transits for the Dutch market, where the van sold well, using capacity that was ample because the Ford Transcontinental truck was built there. The Transit continued as the largely unaltered first generation of 1965, in its tenth year, with a range of petrol Essex V4 engines and York and Perkins diesels, produced at Southampton, Genk and Amsterdam.
