By 2025 the Transit was in the eleventh year of the fourth generation, sold in cargo van, passenger van, cutaway and chassis cab forms around the world and as the E-Transit with a battery of 89 kWh. It had been marketed nearly globally since the end of the twentieth century and, since 2015, in North America where it replaced the E-Series. The Tourneo Custom version offered a plug in hybrid engine.
