Cortinas were built throughout the Cortina Mk II lifespan under licence by the Korean automaker Hyundai, which led to the Cortina 80 at the end of the model line. The Taunus TC3 of 1980 was the German market version of the Cortina Mk V, sold across Europe. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford.
