With the Torino ending production after 1976, the 1977 Ranchero was restyled in line with the LTD II mid size car line that replaced the Torino on the same platform. The same three models as since 1968 were offered and the Ranchero could be had in luxurious form, with engines up to the 400 cubic inch V8. Production ceased in 1979 with a commemorative 1979.5 model. Its model years run from 1977 to 1979.
