For the 1965 model year Ford introduced an all new design for its full size range and, to expand its flagship Galaxie 500 series, the 500 LTD. Sharing top billing with the performance 500XL, the 500 LTD was a luxury oriented car with a plush cloth interior, woodgrain accents and contoured seats and door panels. Options included power windows, power driver's seat, power brakes and steering, air conditioning and a vinyl Landau roof.
