In 1993 the Granada Mark III was in its last full year with the Granada name in Britain and Ireland, before the pan European Scorpio replaced it in 1994. The Scorpio shared its platform, doors and roof with the Mark III Granada and updated the nose and tail sections to match the ovoid designs then used across the Ford range, a design that proved controversial. Still the car carried the 2.9 liter V6 and the 24 valve Cosworth version.
