1942 Ford GPA

Automobiles

The GPA was developed in 1942 after the United States Motor Transport Board set up a project under the National Defense Research Committee for a quarter ton light amphibian, and the construction was developed in competition by Marmon Herrington and Ford. The Ford entry used a sturdy chassis. The GPA was an amphibious jeep built for the Allied forces, and it was called the Seep by those who used it. It was Ford's entry in a contest with Marmon Herrington to build a quarter ton amphibian.
