By 2010 the Galaxy range offered 1.8 and 2.0 litre diesels and 2.2 TDCi versions, with two petrol engines including a 1.6 litre EcoBoost, which a newspaper writer criticized as not powerful enough for the car. Seats for second and third rows folded flat into the floor. The Galaxy was a seven seat people carrier that Ford built for the European market, sharing its platform with the Mondeo in its later forms. It was slotted between the Tourneo Connect and the Tourneo Custom in the Ford range, and was the first Ford brand people carrier made outside North America.
