The Galaxy of 2009 had no spare wheel, with an aerosol foam sealant supplied to seal punctures until a new tyre could be bought. Features included Home Safe Lighting, a heated Quickclear windscreen and a cooled glove box for the passenger. It was slotted between the Tourneo Connect and the Tourneo Custom in the Ford range, and was the first Ford brand people carrier made outside North America. The Galaxy was a seven seat people carrier that Ford built for the European market, sharing its platform with the Mondeo in its later forms.
