The second generation Fusion was unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show as a 2013 model, built on the Ford CD4 platform as part of the One Ford global car strategy, with design led by Ford of Europe. It was sold in trims from S through SE and Titanium to Platinum, with Hybrid and Energi plug in versions and a Sport with a 2.7 liter turbo V6 from 2017. Ford planned to discontinue it from 2018, and 2020 was its last model year. Its model years run from 2013 to 2020.
